History

Of buttons, synthetic resin and clever minds

Gremolith AG was founded in 1941 in Bazenheid in the canton of St.Gallen by the Grämiger family. It produced artificial horn from by-products of milk and cheese to make buttons in the subsequent production step.

For decades, Gremolith AG has stood for responsible, entrepreneurial action in the production of unsaturated polyester resins, polyurethane and phenolic resins, and other chemical products for strategic partners.

With the self-image 'valueable solutions' the Gremolith AG considers itself as part of the value creation of innovative, sustainable, and durable products. Hence, we commit ourselves to the present and future generations to meet the ecological responsibility, social justice, and sustainable business.

All elements of the value chain are considered, starting with the purchase of raw materials and supplies, through the processes in production, to the end use by the customer. Consequently, it is important to constantly review our actions and incorporate sustainable solutions into all business decisions.

For us, sustainability and successful business are not contradictory.

Since the foundation of Gremolith AG, we have attached great importance to ensuring high quality consistently. Our deeply instilled quality consciousness is anchored in all stages of value creation and was certified according to ISO 9001 for the first time in 2007.

For many years, Gremolith AG is committing itself to a sustainable treatment of the environment and a continuous improvement of its performance. This is documented by the environmental certificate according to ISO 14001.

For Gremolith AG, protecting the health of all employees implies creating a good working environment and safe working conditions and using personal protective measures wherever necessary. Especially when working with chemicals, we are aware of our responsibilities and obligations.
